WEDDINGS

Our work has a natural + delicate style to it which we then combine with reflecting your style preferences, the venue space, style + setting, the season, we’ll also take into consideration any cultural heritage elements + symbolise these through the flowers for you. All this creates a unique brief to flower your day with, this page is dedicated to looking in depth at some of our favourite past weddings + their details.

Midelney Manor in Mid-summer

This special wedding was a mid-summers dream come true! Filled with all of the enchanting flowers of June, the absolute best month for British flowers. Midelney Manor sits in the heart of Somerset amongst rolling, green hills + the prettiest little villages peppered with rambling roses tumbling + climbing over mossy brick walls. The most exciting aspect of this wedding (for us) from our humble flowery POV, is that Izzy (our good friend) is actually a wedding florist herself! Izzy is the founder of Seed&Stem a stunning floral design studio. Izzy is always seriously busy with weddings through the summer season + focused upon looking after her own clients floral needs, so for her wedding, she understandably wanted to pass that stress + responsibility over to someone else so she could focus upon enjoying the special moments leading up to + on the day itself. We were SO completely honoured + excited to be asked to take on this job! We worked together closely with Izzy during the design process + then allowed her to relish being a bride whilst we got stuck in.

As a couple, Izzy + Nick are both passionate about flowers/plants, nature + food (the good things in life right?!) so we focused on using flowers + foliages from our local growers which of course perfectly captured the seasonal moment in time. The designs were also abundant with fragrant cut herbs such as mint, sage, lavender + rosemary along with potted plants including more varied herbs + tiny fruiting strawberry plants! These elements of the florals perfectly complimented + echoed the surrounding country gardens of Midelney Manor + the delicious, locally sourced feast put on by The Full Spoon which included edible flowers + lots of summer herbs. We displayed the jasmine, strawberry + herbaceous plants in baskets accompanied by a pair of tall Somerset grown birch trees that I+N kept to plant in their garden as living keepsakes.

For the design style of the arrangements we wanted to add a gentle, modern romantic edge whilst still keeping a very natural feel + allowing flowers space. Within the broken arch we focused on highlighting the natural shapes + movement of the flowers + foliages , we wanted the arch to almost feel like an extension of the abundantly beautiful gardens. The masses of bud vases had a simplified modern feel created by using only one variety of flower in each one.

The colour palette was very seasonally influenced combining warm muted summer pastels with occasional clean pops muted summer pastels such as gentle blues, lilacs, dusky pinks + sage greens all lifted + given a contemporary, editorial edge with refreshing whites.

The bridesmaid’s bouquets were playful + colourful to gently pop against their white dresses + reflect the magical floweryness of mid-summer. The buttonholes were kept simple + botanical using a textural combination of summer herbs, seedheads, small flowers + green blackberries. Izzy’s bridal bouquet was thoughtfully curated with the best blooms we could get our hands on, we even managed to source sunset toned pansies from Sarah our grower at Compton Gardens they were so beautiful! The style was loose + organic allowing each flower its own natural movement + dance + lots of smaller, delicately shaped flowers complimented the intricate patterning on Izzy’s dress which was a dreamy, romantic, flowing number by Madi Lane from Lace & Grace Bridal in Keynsham. For the finishing touch the stems were bound with a flowing, artisan, silk ribbon in a mocha shade which subtly complimented the underdress fabric of her dress.

On the morning of the wedding we had the Snowdrops team onsite bright + early to install the romantic broken arch in the idyllic walled garden + add all the finishing touches to the marquee + tables. After the beautiful ceremony we transferred the arch over to a new focal area - framing the entrance of the marquee, where it then had admiration for the rest of the day from guests passing in + out to the bar + gardens.

The whole day was photographed by the incredibly talented + friendly Keziah + Craig from Hello Pictures . They captured all the special + natural moments as the day unfolded including snaps of team Snowdrops hard at work securing the arch with hidden tent pegs + bricks as it battled the windy early morning!

We were very generously invited to stay + enjoy the day after our all our flowering action, it was so much fun to see the day play out surrounded by our florals , laugh at the BRILLIANT speeches, cry at being thanks so much + then have a good, old dance to finish the evening off with sustained with tasty stone-baked pizza from Soul Dough . Izzy + Nick’s day was absolutely one of the highlights of our year! We wish them all the happiness + good fortune in the world for their marriage + feel so blessed to have been a part of their day, thanks guys!
